Here are just a few slides from our image collection, to give you a bit of an idea of what our slides look like un-collaged. Over the past few years we have built up quite a large slide library with the help of a number of talented photographers within the group such as Richard, Julian, Malcolm and Sue . Our library has also benefited from donated images given by friends and family. We have a number of different ways of using these images. As well as our collage technique we sometimes scan slides and use them within video loops. We also sometimes have carousels of (eg.nature images) within a building. Images of the natural world are often popular in dance events.

Lith Images

"Lith" or lithographic images are basically produced using a very high contrast black and white film and are home developed. It is only possible to obtain two colours using this method; black and clear. This method of producing slides lends itself very well to the reproduction of strong line drawings and ancient woodcuts.

We use lith images in a number of different ways. We overlay them onto background textures (such as the leaves above). We use them to focus projectors with (as they are very bright and show up even when the lights are on). We also tend to lith text slogans and song words to overlay on top of other images.

These three Celtic designs were drawn and lithed by Richard.
