Epiphany

A poem for epiphany. To put as text on video, or just read.

We're still chasing stars
And getting lost,
But this time they stare at us
From glossy magazines.
We're still following stars
Stumbling blindly
In roughly the wrong direction,
Asking questions of a ruler
With a knife in his hands.
Theophany: God-showing
God - show us God!

Imagine a better world
Are we wise?
Were we ever?
Are we clever?
Are we good?
Or just lost?
Looking up
I see a silver sweep,
A glimmered hope
But this star is elusive
She shines and then stops
Leaving us stumbling.
But then in the stumbling
Your words echo in this head
"Out of you will come a ruler".
Out of you.
And then I know
We've reached the stable,
It was here all the time.
