Liturgy of the Four Seasons
Lord of all seasons,
We share with You our Summer.
May the long days be filled with
Your warmth and may the happy heat
Of Summer be shared with all around us.
May we hear in buzzing bees a song for you.
May we search the blue sky to glimpse
Your hidden face.
Lord of all seasons,
We share with You our Autumn.
As the trees share their fruit
May our own gifts become blessings to others
Even as we receive theirs.
May we take shelter in Your arms
When the colder breezes of life blow.
Lord of all seasons,
We give to You our Winters,
Our dark nights of sorrow,
Our doubts, our disbelief,
The icy numbness left behind
When something we treasure is lost.
Sustain us during life's frost
And the pain of our Decembers,
The cold indifference of those who don't see our tears
And the biting wind of suffering.
Help us bear our stabs of pain
With the warm fortitude of Christ.
Lord of all seasons,
We bring to You our Springtime,
Our growing and blossoming
The transformation of our Lenten fast
and our awakening to Easter's hope.
For now we know that death is not the end
And as green shoots rise from the ground
So we too shall rise.
May your abundant miracles keep our souls in bloom.
Lord of all seasons,
We bring you every year,
That our birthing and dying
Our crying and laughter
May be Yours no matter what.
May we treasure every moment
Till the clocks finally stop
And you meet us in eternity.
